Saturday October 5th 11:30- 12:30 Pottery throwing demonstrations at Hallowell Fire Station on 2nd street. Malley Weber, adjunct Ceramic Arts instructor at UMA and owner of Hallowell Clay Works will show you how pottery is thrown on the potter’s wheel mugs, bowls, plates, cups, vases and more. Enjoy the mesmerizing transformation of clay right before your eyes.  Just come and watch!
Saturday Oct. 5th  4-6pm  The Great intergenerational Pottery Throw Down   We need 4 teams of 2 intergenerational (first time-beginner) participants to compete for a $100 Gift Certificate for a pottery class at Hallowell Clay Works. No experience is necessary. We will be working on the potter’s wheel and hand-building.  All participants must register in advance -space is limited. Parents, kids, grandparents, neighbors whatever. Just bring your messy clothes and a good attitude!  Spaces will go quickly! No work will be fired for this event unless you’d like to purchase that post competition. $10 entrance fee per team  Register here
Sunday  October 6th 11-1pm  Raku Firing Rodeo  Free! Come enjoy the spectacle of Hallowell Clay Works students and firing and unloading pots from a Raku Kiln. This  dynamic technique involves smoke, sawdust, and glowing hot pottery cooled right before your eyes. Pots will be available for sale. No need to register- just come and watch!
